Heaphy Associates uses many different repair procedures, depending on the type and the severity of the damage. In the case of a crack, usually the damaged area is cut away with a router. Then, undamaged CORIAN is patched in place. In all cases, our goals are to correct the underlying problem that caused the failure, to reinforce the repair to minimize the chance of additional problems, and to complete an attractive and inconspicuous repair. Best results are obtained by using a matching piece of CORIAN from the original batch. This can be from a cutting board, a side splash, or from scrap left from the original installation.
